On my way back

Writing this means I just started my journey back to UIA.
Writing also means that I promised myself I will write during my midsem break, but at home, so this is a rather broken promise.

This is first time updating my blog through my phone and it feels a little awkward. The 'touch' is not there, do you get what I mean? Guess I missed the clicking sounds of the keyboard unlike this the virtual one. Haha.

I still suck at time management that I didn't manage to do a lot of studying for my quiz next week (there's 3 quizzes coming up). #ohmyhead

Time flies so fast that I actually knew before hand that 1 week of midsem break is not enough for me. (I literally studied in the car during ride to go to banks & stuff just to make sure I did a little studying at least.)

And unexpectedly this week sale's rocketed much than I expected that I couldn't handle much myself as I used to do. Alhamdulillah, all my family members help a little bit here and there. (I literally freaked out like crying in stress this morning for the 2nd time in my life knowing I'm not gonna make it if I do alone.) And it's the first time I discovered that I could be rather short tempered during critical time of stress. Luckily my faithful youngest brother help so much this morning, that I wanted to squeeze him to death cause I'm so thankful. Others help me too, so thank you.

Writing this already makes me felt kinda lonely & missing home already. No one is like our family, right? #lovingthemsomuch #grateful

It's only been 30 minutes,

P/S: Blogger in Google Chrome is so not friendly. I couldn't left sided & italic my writer's name. Hope they come up with a mobile version.

Life update.

I have been living well. Alhamdulillah. So...

How is pharmacy?
The best!

Is it true pharmacy degree is the busiest?
Probably yes. Not this year though. But it will get busier every year. Trust me.

Is it tough?
I wouldn't say so. First semester are half recaps of foundation + half new things.

Why I'm not updating?
Me myself is busy. Society, sports, business, basically managing time.

How come I can update now?
Cause tomorrow is mid semester break!

Am I going to be busy for the break?
Yes.

After mid sem?
3 quizzes.

Where I am now?
Library.

Anything interesting happening in IIUM Kuantan?
Nescafe hub! (Today's the last day.)

Have I been missing writing?
Are you kidding?

How is business?
Guess who turns two years old yesterday.

What I am doing here?
Studying I suppose.

We made our very first drug//First Pharmacy Practice Lab

So we had our very first Pharmacy Practice practical. And...

We made our very first drug (aka medicine)! How was it?

One word.

CHAOS!

Literally. Haha.

But fun.

Before the lab, we were given the lab manual, 13 pages, which contain some questions, and inquiries. But no instructions.

Example : Patient XX needs XX g of drug XX for XX disease tds 6/7. You as a pharmacist need to prepare this drug.

So we are needed to figure:
1. How to make the drug.
2. The exact amount needed.
3. How to label the drug.

And not to mention, make a report out of it. Which we only known we need to write the procedure the day before.

For me, I studied the previous lecture notes and just finish the day before, but didn't manage to the lab report the day before.

Oh and if you are wondering, the report needed to be submitted right after we finish the drug / before class ended. No joke. Some unlucky ones got mark deductions for submitting a few minutes late.

So we needed to finish the report before the lab, if not. No time mate! The lecturers are not going to help. So figure out yourself.

How? (According to before.)
1. Search and understand all recipes (and variations). The lecturers will expect you to know more.
2. Calculation. Important! Wrong calculation, you're busted!
3. Again, search and search. Labeling is the hardest part. It took us all an hour for us to label 3 medication, and still didn't get entirely correct.

During the lab, we were given our own cubicle to get our medicine done. (Yes, you are alone in this game. But not quite.) After briefing (if not mistaken about 1/2 hour, due to too many questions), then we know which medicine needed to be prepared out of all that was asked in the lab manual.  After that, we are divided to two groups to do the experiment (due to lack of apparatus). And then, cop-cop, off we go. Everyone, was so anxious and nervous (literally everyone's hands were shaking during weighing the mass). And so busy, (you can practically see some running from one place to another).

Despite all this, the funny thing is we literally prepared 'air garam' and 'air gula'.

Rx 15.

It's been a while since...

Okay, so it's been 1 week and more before my previous post (I have one post save in my laptop, but currently I'm writing this using the library's computer. So well...).

I'm in the library right now, having break until 3.30 p.m, before having lab (practical classes). So far for the labs, every subject this semester have their own practical, and for the practical we are generally divided into 2 groups, as we are roughly 120 in number, so each lab consist of 60 students.

For the BMS (Bio Medical Science) lab like anatomy we are divided to two half, the total hours for each lab is 3 hours, generally 2-5 p.m, and for the first half the first group will go, and the 2nd half, the 2nd group will go (like me), and then we interchange each other time. So for the next lab session, my group will go first.

For the Physiology & Physical Pharmacy lab, we had full 3 hours cause the experiment is quite long, and besides the BMS lab is just us looking at the specimens through microscope (in pairs). Microscopic skills are important, I guess. And I think I started to get the hang of it since my last BMS lab. For the practicals, that we need to do experiments. We are further divided to groups of 6 from the 60 people, and each group will have both genders. Since our 'kaum adam' is lacking in number, most group had 1 brother only. And some had 2. So brothers, pandai-pandai la survive. Haha.

Okay, dah melalut jauh pasal lab. Back to the title. It's been a while since...

I played ball. Which I just realize yesterday, it's been almost 5-6 years since I played. I enjoy sports, but frankly I'm not the sporty type. And also, if I do commit (like really wanna join a tornoment), my health condition will limit me (is not that I can't play, it's the fact that how much I try, I know that I can't be good as others.) Anyway, I'm still grateful. At least, I can play, But not excel as others. :)

And it's the first time, I play basketball, being the first timer, and 'sbb-dah-lama-pancit', I was not very good, but at least I shoot the first goal in the first round. So, kuddos! Hehe. I'm eager to play sports more (besides ice-skating & bowling with my family), and now I have a friend (which plays really good, I think she is one of the excel one in sports for our batch, Rx15 pharmacy) that will ajak my everyday kot. Thanks friend. <3 Haha. I'm grateful, cause I do enjoy sports, even I'm not good. Haha.

Do you think I could?

P/S : This week, we are suppose to have our first two quizzes. But one is postponed to later (which I don't know need to be thankful or not, hopefully it's not a busy week for the postponed quiz), so pray for me (the quiz is on Friday.)

P/S : This week my juniors (2nd year CFS students, which I know them during CFS) will be having their interview, so good luck! (And yes, I just realized that I haven't yet finished my interview posts. Huhu. Sorry ;( )

2nd Day. DONE!

Okay, as usual I have loads to update. But still. Huhu, time-constrict as always.

I just come back for my class, which started at 9, and we had a break from 12.30-3, (only for today).

Today, is my 2nd official day of class for my first semester. And it was great. We learn about anatomy, histology, practical pharmacy, physiology.

So far so good. And the lecturers are all good teachers, which I understand throughout the leatures. Alhamdulilah. (Hope it stays like this until the end of my study.)

A little bit info if you guys are wondering about Pharmacy degree in IIUM here, is that:
- our timetable changes everyweek
- the lecturers that will be teaching us, are different according to the topic of subject
- for every subject we have only 1 hour lecture/subject

This only applies, for Pharmacy degree in IIUM, different courses such as in Allied Health Science has 2 hours lectures, and some have fix timetable and so on.

For the 1st we day, we had tilawah placement test, which we shouldn't took due to some miscommunication. And briefing on the laboratory practice & safety, which is very-very important. And the labs look so interesting for us to do experiments there, so I'm looking forward to that.

Going on to writing another post,

Tawe // Taa'ruf Week 15/16 in IIUM Kuantan.

I'm finally here, guys!! An official degree student here at IIUM, Alhamdulillah. :)

So how was Taa'ruf Week?

First thing first, I arrived a little late for the taa'ruf week. At around 1.30, (the slots starts at 2) but still managed to place my belongings at my room, as I borrowed my roommate's key. (I didn't get the key yet.)

Althought the late registration, we were handled well by the taa'ruf commitees. We got the taa'ruf kit and so on.

The first was not much, was the basics.

2nd day - subuh at mosque, community service, (Pharmacy's students went to Pantai *i forgot the name*, but still we went out, while some others stayed at UIA. The night, we were to discuss for our cultural night performance.

3rd day - qiam at MAC 1 (for sisters), and the whole day was full of briefings regarding what we need to know, but for the night we had our cultural night, Which was supperb. <3 KOS, won 1st & 3rd, while KOM won 2nd. Pharmacy or Pharmalicious (the name for our team), didn't won, but still we received gifts (which I just thought about, that sisters, didn't get any. Haha.) & a blast time, for sure.

4th day - the baiah day. Basically we had rehearsal for the afternoon baiah session. It's kinda like a tradition of pledging oath ceremony, which I could say is very ceremoni-ous (is that a word?) and formal. As all the important people were there.

Taa'ruf week ends at Friday, 2 Sept 2016 around 5 p.m, and ended by a performance & videos by the taaruf commitees. Overall, they did a very good job manging us and the week, so kudos to them. ;)

Oh n something, you need to know, all sessions ain taa'ruf week are strictly compulsory, if you are found to not attend any session, you will; have to repeat the taa'ruf week next year with your juniors, if not, you can not graduate.

And, actually I write this after the 2nd Day's post. Irony. Haha.
Pergi solat!
The Girl in A Hood

P/S : Moo, quack, sss. And katak kembung kempis. This I will remember til the end. You know what I mean if you join the taa'ruf week. Haha.
