Day 09 : Religious day.

I'm sorry. I have a lot of work. Blogging one post usually takes 2 to 3 hours. So it really takes my time. Future me, sorry.

Today is a the kind of day to visit all the Buddha-Hindu thingy. And the day I finally meet Ca. Haha. He's nice. But I couldn't really talk to him because of Nt.

I remember Ca having he's coffee. He must be a little sleepy, coming from another place. He helped order coffee for P & Nk too. And before we go to the trip, me & Ks gave some of our clothes to the dobi service. We had not much time to wash our clothes from rafting dry (it smells & soaks the sand and river), also the clothes I wear from the night hanging out with them at the cafe, stinks alcohol a bit. I don't know if it's a muslims thing or for someone who don't drink alcohol, we are more sensitive to alcohol smell, even from a distance or from people who are near the alcohol. The dobi service is rather cheap, they wash, dry and fold clothes for 5000 rupiah per kilogram. Pick up the next day. We got it in very good condition.

Borobudur. We went there. One thing I really remember before arriving there Ro teach the word 'anjailu' and 'pantat bagus' to Nk (and it spreaded). She should have got a good scolding for teaching bad words. Haha. Well, I didn't know one word means vagina in Malay. So I had to teach them not to say that in Malaysia. Had another embarassing moment trying to teach Nt not to say that in Malaysia.

The wait for ticket has finished. We got our tickets. For the tickets, the Indonesian price is way cheaper than ours. That's why they ask for our student card, if not the price will be very expensive. So tips going to Indonesia! Bring your student card! And then, we enter. Our entrance is different from the Indonesian. We got a coffee or a small water bottle before our entry. Then, we entered. Of course, the Indonesian where waiting for us. A picture at the entrance. I really like the picture.

Than we walked. I didn't want to go on an elephant ride like P & Nk. And I don't understand why everyone was walking so slow. By the time, I know I was already there. I even met Nt who was riding a bicycle. It's nice to explore by myself. I got to explore every each. I meet some of them at some levels. And then, I went on a walk on a nearby hill. Alone. People were asking around why I was walking alone. But I simply ignore the Pak Cik2 by ignoring them. I love the walk on the hill. By the time I knew it. I was at the very end of the whole big place. So I went back to the entrance. I visited the whole park there. I was sweating.

I called Ni & Ca. And then, they panicked to find me. Huhu. Bad girl. But, I did ask who wants to accompany me before I go. I definitely had a nice walk & exercise, so I don't regret.. I hurried back up there. They didn't explain well, where they were so we had a little rush and panicked. Ca found me on my way down. All were waiting for Ks who was praying. I guess my rush was unneccesary. -.- I waited with them, and took a photo, where I accidently touch V's chest where I put my hands over her shoulder. I didn't realise it, until she said that to me. Fuhh. Another embarassing moment.

The way out was so long with shops. I bought a tshirt so I could wear in my room. When we got out, we had to wait for Nk & P who went somewhere. So we had like a drink very similar to cendol. And then we were off to the Ijo Temple. I had a great time at the car with Nk. We talk quite a lot.

We'd just made it to see sunset at Ijo Temple, which was really pretty. I didn't wander off this time. There's no place too. So I had some pictures with Mia, before I sat between Nk & M. Had a got fling by M's hair. (I also had experienced a few slaps by Nk's hair. Mainly at the few first day of the programme. Haha. It's known that not only me experienced it.) I talked about clouds and the sun with Nk (me & Nk were literally 'best friends for the day' someone said). M was talking about Jawa songs with the committees. The committees were hyped by singing. I remember someone saying I had no fear for standing at the very edge.

After that, we had to wait for awhile for Ks to pray. So I chatted with V while waiting. Then, we jumped in to the topic about Borobudur. I was looking for photos of Borobudur on her phone until I found a really funny boomerang of her with Ri. So I ask about it to her. I was still, laughing at the boomerang. Until suddenly, Nt ask me if I liked Ri. I was like whatt? In my head. So I cut off with a Noo. And explain I was looking at pictures on Vo's phone. I had a good laugh about it with Ks in our room the night.

And lastly, Ramayana Ballet. It was boring at first, until we read the story in the leaflet. Had a good time then. And impressed by how very specific the ballet was in regards to the story. Also, had a good chat with (Oh God I forgot the name), the girl who was the emcee on the first day, and international night. We talked about school, culture and stuff along with Ks. Before it was time to go, we took pictures with the dancers who looks monster-host-like costumes. I requested a photo with Ca, and two others come in. Haha. Maybe, later.

Sweet tragic love story,
The Girl in A Hood.

Day 08 : Ulat Bulu.

This day is also one of the memorable day for me. The day we went for rafting & international night.

We went to the rafting place, I remember I bought chips. Mister Potato Sour Cream from Malaysia. Haha. We ate while waiting cause at the van, everyone is busy sleeping. Haha. V & Win didn't come today, to be honest. It was kinda lonely without them.

And then we have to take a van to go to the place. Ks had told me days before and again, she's afraid of the water, but still gonna go rafting. Fuhh. I did a mistake interpreting this. I left my shoes & bag at where we came, the place the other committee who didn't go rafting hang out. I still wore my socks.

Arriving there, we got our life jackets and helmet ready. Ks got the faulty one. Haha. We were then given briefing and divided into 2 groups, me, Ks & Kh kinda wanted a group together, but we have to part to balance out the man power. So me and Ks got a group with Nt, P, Nk & Ri. Nt had been rafting for his whole life, so I kinda put my trust on him. But nu-uh. Something happen.

The rafting went smooth. I really like view, and the water. Of course, they were a few (or a lot) bumpy rides. The other group was louder than us. As usual, I don't scream. When, we got to a peaceful stream, the instructor said we can go into the water. I was lazy at first. But, still got into the water later. I love the water to be honest. But the funny part, I can't swim. Haha. Maybe a little, but I still have to hang out to the boat if not I will be left out. Nt got a little mischievous (well, he's a guy) and push people from the boat. I think P got pushed first. Everybody got their turn, even I was pulled into the water. But he's a got guy, at least he saved everyone he put into the mess.

Still, they were planning to put Ks in the water. I said I was okay with that. That's when I did a big mistake. I didn't know that Ks is water-phobic, and can't go into the water at all. When, they start holding her arms to push her off, she screamed like so loud, I thought the whole river can hear and started crying. We had to calm her down afterwards. Sure, she can not trust the trio anymore especially Nt.

Then, when we went into another bumpy ride through the rocks, our boat got stuck. But, worse, the other boat comes and bump into ours. And sent people flying of the boat. Sure thing people got hurt, cause the rocks were very nasty. We got the other boat loose. But, still got to save our boat cause we can't move. This where Nt helped a lot. Jumping to the rock (all of us) and so on. The boat were sent free. We even row back to save Kh on the other side.

We had a break of snacks and coconut water at the shelter near the river bank. Ks wanted to stop (I totally support this, I could not bear seeing people screaming and crying), but they only had one motorcycle. Ks (and Ri) change into the other boat with Kh & M, while Wid & Fai got into our boat. Cause we will be flipping the boat. Nt wanted to go kayaking by his own, so he ask if I could translate for him. Wid come by so she helped translate instead me (well, I'm practically Malaysian not Indonesian). Btw, M got hurt on her back during the flying over thing. She is a grandma. Others got hurt too.

Another rafting journey, after break. Nt got a lot more mischievous and pull people of other boats we don't know after that. I couldn't care less. Then, Wid & Nt plan to pull the other team, their professor and M. I don't mind the professor. But M? She's hurt. Still, I keep silent most of the journey. Adding more words can cause trouble. But, I did get pull over again by others because of them. I swear the two other times, when I was in the water, got pulled by the other boats, someone push my butt to make sure I got into the boat. But sure, after that. No more water. I can't bear the water sticking the pants to my butt & Nt saving me every time I was in the water. Memang tambah dosa betul. Huhu. When we meet the other team, Nt tried to pull them. But ended up getting hit on the helmet by a raging Ks. He bled a little to be surprised, which made him silent until the end. Ks said sorry afterwards, Ni just noded, but it definitely turn awkward and a little tense. Flipping the boat was one of the best part, it made my heart race a little and a huge 'dump' when it happened.

Rafting ended, and we were back. The UK & Cambodians had to cook, while us were in our room she's we bought our traditional food instead of cooking. We had to prepare for the night, but I had to face a miserable Ks. Also, I slept afterwards until Nk knocks the door. Nk just finished cooking at that time, and we had like 30 minutes left to prepare before the night. While, they were cooking, it was performance preparation time. But, Wi didn't come so I slept. Haha.

So the night, we went on the first trip with Nk & P. Their clothes were gorgeous. Kinda like modern batik style. The international night was at the post-graduate building entrance. We got off and took our seats. While, waiting for the others I took photos with P and Nk. And the ceremony starts. There was a fashion show where Ni was one of the models. How we cheered for her. Lol. This night we were suppose to wear traditional clothes, where Ks & I already agreed to wear baju kurung. Wi wear batik while Nt wear a Polo shirt (soo not traditional) while the Cambodians wear a white lace top with kain batik. Everyone look so lovely. After that, we had ideos of our uniersity, we gave 3 university and they choose the IIUM song one. I was literally singing along. Haha. The Cambodians was so long, and the narrator sounds like M. Literaly, like promting their university. The Russian's and UK's, I couldn't even figure out the accent. While, the Indonesian's was so dramatic. Still, it was all nice to see (for the first of every 2 minutes).

They introduced us the dinner, which there were so many food options. I went for the rice, and couldn't eat anything else. After that, we had to do the performance. And us were first. Huhu. I laughed the whole ulat bulu song, where no one had no idea why I was laughing. I got a good scold from Ks after that. Well, I deserved it. The Cambodians were nice, and we all had to like go up the stage to dance. I was like the very back, trying to hide while figure out how to not look stupid dancer. Haha. Nt said he wanted to do his performance on the last night (where he didn't. Cheater. TT.TT) The UK's also didn't prepare anything for the dance. But P still go up the stage explain about her dress instead. After thar, we had the traditional food presentation, where emcee shoved the mic to me first. And literally, the food I bought is the same as Indonesian food (well, kinda expected). And the mic was passed around. All the food looked lovely, but I was too full. Huhu.

In the end, Ks and I was the first in the car. We did a little drama of getting way with the car, cause the others took so long. Haha. Before that, I had go back and forth the car and chat with new people. I didn't get to chat with Ni (she wasn't with us the morning), cause Nt took her. It kinda sucks having to share LO during this time. Haha.

No more performance please,
The Girl in A Hood

Day 07: On the Jeep.

This day was one of the most awaited for me. Ks told me so much about the Lava Tour. So as she was so excited, I got my hypes up too. Hehe.

The morning we went to the Palace. To be truth it is kinda boring, cause I'm not so into historical stuff. Huhu. The tour guide (an aunt) brought us through the palace and explain each building. Her English is quite good. The structure, decoration are mostly influence from Hindu-Buddha. But also, many comes from European countries, which is interesting. Like the tiles, the vase. And they still keep the 'keranda' for like carrying the prince for 'sunat' like the ancient one. After the tour, we watched the traditional dance, it was kinda of a class. They were girls dance first and then boys (and old men). I didn't quite like watching. As I said before, because of the tight clothes and some of the dance is seductive-wise? Whether it is, I didn't like to watch these kinds of dance. We took a bunch of photos while waiting for Nt who was missing (cause he went on his own). When, he arrived some others missing. Haha.

Oh and I could not forget. While we were waiting for the tickets, a salesman went to M, where the committee said don't touch. The man was frustrated and got mad with the committee. I wanted to buy postcards after waiting for them, but it was time to go. I even didn't get to buy an shirt (which I wanna wear in the room). But it was okay cause it wasn't really that important.

So off to the Lava tour. It was my first day of period which I got the very morning. Bad news. I was bleeding through. So while, the muslims were praying which M joined in (I was so proud and happy), I frantically trying to wash off the mess in the bathroom. It was lucky nobody noticed. Phew. My dignity is saved.

Huhu. I'm so lazy to type now. #cries

I came to the waiting area, luckily they were still waiting for the jeep. I wanted to go with Ks, but we got seperated (or rather she left me. Haha.) So a got a group with Nt, P, Ri and another committee. Well, I'm fine with anyone. But I wanted to get along more with others. Cause I already talk much to Nt, P, and M (Ks also, we talked a lot in the room). Nt caused of lectures and car seats where he seats besides me. P, I bump to her a lot, breakfast time and we talked once during the night. M during meal times too.

I loved the jeep ride and the lava tour as whole. It was interesting ruins and close to nature. The jeep ride hurts, cause it was one bumpy ride. And it was a lot of dust, so I got a sore throat after that. I took some great photos here too with Wid's help. Lovely photos with P, and funny photo-bombed with the Cambodians and Ks. Well, I can't do the sexy leg move. And what I still remember is Ri being's P's savior everytime, the tree came. But before, we knew it. We were back.

For the night, it marks something in my life. I'm not sure to blog this. But, I still will. Just don't judge. I'm my right mind when doing this.

Hanging out with my non-muslim friends while knowing the fact they drink alcohol. They were very polite and ask around dinner, if it's fine as they will bring alcohol. Well, Nt insisted it's tradition to drink vodka when getting to know people (in Russia). I was fine. And am until now. And I strictly said it's fine but I strictly don't drink. The reason why I hang out to get to know them better. And literally every night before, me and Ks just stayed in our rooms after dinner. Even, there's still time until midnight. I didn't want them to get an idea that muslims are like only to ourselves. Like I'm cool to hang out and chil okay? :)

And it was just a cafe above our room. V, P, Nk, and Nt had their first shots of vodka Nt bought from Russia. I went back and forth from the toilet a lot cause a drink a few glasses of warm water and lime to sooth my throat before the hang out. V did another shot and then said goodbye with the other Cambodians. Happens they went to my room, with Ks cause we promised them they can see our hair. So I had to went down again, cause I have the keys. By the time I went up, the chips Nt ordered has gone while P and Nk already had their third shots. Nt only had two caused he actually don't drink alcohol that much. Which causes them to diss him. Even, the second shot he insisted to drink only after the food has arrived. I didn't realise I was on camera until Nk said to me, (it's Nk's since she do vlogs). I said it was fine, before I remember about her vlog, so she said she will cut until before I arrived. Cause clearly I don't want other muslims to misunderstand.

We had few talks, and a new bottle of vodka arrived which they deal with a boy from the cafe to go and buy from a shop. I don't know how Indonesian law works but he did manage to come with a bottle (bigger than Nt's) of vodka, although unlabeled. So Nk & P had two more shots. While, Nt had only one more. The two besties was argueing over the fact Nt didn't finished his second (or first), (I don't remember), all of the people hanging out will get 10 years of bad sex which includes me. So they were arguing the fact if I know I'm gonna know I have bad sex or not caused the only person I will have sex is my husband. I didn't said a thing, but they came up with the topic themselves. I basically handled the topic, and changed it. After the 5th shots, the music suddenly got louder, so they were practically dancing on the sofa and floor. Of course, I don't wanna join and Nt too. So we just sat there with our phones. I wanted to go back, but had to help Nt escape caused Nk & P won't let him go. They were literally chasing at the cafe like kids. He got an escape like a 10 minutes break at his room. I went down soon after that ( I had nothing to do staying there anyways), where I bump to Nt on his way going back. He kept his 10 minute promise, but he wanted to stay in his room. So I accompanied him again to make sure he can escape again. Upstairs, Nk & P were talking about me being a good crack & fun while Nt is a no fun person. Haha. In the end, they did let him go.

After Nt went to his room, I went to Ks saying a needed a little walk around the building before going back. It was 11 thirty at that time, cause I promise Ks to not go back late. Haha. Me & Ks got into a talk or an hour before going to sleep. P & Nk also got into their room the same time we got into beds (we can hear their voice & door). Ks shared her experience with the Cambodians where they wear hijab talk about Islam and stuff.

An experience,
The Girl in A Hood

Day 06 : Jungwok Beach

Why does blogging takes a lot of time? I just want to be over with this before my memory turn to bits of missing pieces. And blogging makes me miss them. TT.TT

So we woke up early today, as the journey to the beach takes about three hours. I was sitting next to Ks. The journey started with snacks & chatting, but ended after less than an hour. And they sleep most of the journey (i slept for awhile).

And we arrived. The place is a beauty. The ocean was so clear, blue & green. Pebbles, rocks & seashells near the shore.

We didn't have any fix activity at first. So we explore the place & take photos. Kak Sya went on a photoshoot with the photographer there. Haha. We did manage to get some lovely photo.

After I changed to a more comfy pants after that. And I went on a walk on the oceans, where the water is shallow. I love the feeling of the water at my ankle and the rocks on my soles. I ask Zo if she would mind to accompany me. She did, but for awhile. They were too afraid of the waves. Haha. Also, because they didn't bring spare clothes. After she left, I was still lost in my thoughts. I didn't checked on the others.

I went near a rock like three times my size. I wanted to explore, when I met P. She climbed the sharp pointed rock. Climbing down was harder. She said it hurts which was obvious. I just felt the rock with my finger. Interesting... I thought, how could I rock like this being made. I wanted to go further, but it was too dangerous, and P had already left.

That's when I heard people shouting my name. So... It happens to be a forbidden place. Haha. I assured them I was okay, P tried to come and get me. But, I think I was too slow and Ni was going to me she went first. Ni was like a mom scolding me. Haha. Again, I assured I know the boundaries of what safe or not. Then, a big wave came. A strong wave. Luckily, I was behind the rock so the impact is much, Ni was near the rock, so she was safe. Phew. A little bit further, she could have been washed away. I think this was when the trio fall off the giant rock from the corner of the beach. While, I was going back the rock got sharper. So I ended up getting little cuts on my foot.

I went to the corner of the beach. Only to find Nt, V and Ri injured. V was the worst, she got an arm sprain, a knee cut and bits of here and there. While Nt as he was wearing shorts only, he got a little 'brush' by the rock while he fell ended up having like Pontianak scratches on his back, and some big bruises. Well, he is white so it was really red. Ri also was limping. Luckily, he wore clothes. Mama Ni was mad. Haha. The injury got treated by the life guards and committee, I stayed with them for a while. Oh and Nk got a snip of the fall on cam. Haha.

Then, I got back to the picnic area, where the committee cook us food. The other two Cambodians and Ks was there all along. We had lunch of rice, sambal and ikan ayam bakar. The chicken was obviously for P as she can't eat fish. It was yummy. And for water, there was like a water pumping machine. Nice. I wanna try. But didn't get the chance.

After that, we played games. Me, P and M was a team with some other committees. P, Nk & Nt are the leaders of the team. So we were basically all blind folded we form a line with balloons in between us. The leaders got a needle to prick the other team balloons. As I was blind folded, I didn't know what happen. But I know soon after. P and Nk had this little cute mouth fight. So it turns out P manage to burst all Nk's team balloon, then Nk left her group, to pop all of ours. In the end, Nt group win. Semarat (Nt's way of saying semangat)!! Haha. Nk's team got a punishment. Ks's and V was in the group. They had to spin 10 times and run off. It wasn't funny. As the spinning didn't work.

We had other games after that. The grouping game, where I lost 2 times (well, 1 of it is a practice. So.. Only 1 time). It's a game where we need to form groups according to it's number. Then, filling the cup with water game, where our team won, it was a close tie to Nk's. Nt's team lost and his team need to do the punishment. Yeah. The same elephant thingy. He fell when he took a few steps. I was near the spot so while the others come and go saying he should finish his run. When suddenly he offer his hand to me. Huh? I was taken aback honestly. Just because the Indonesian girls touch him, he thinks I'm fine. Sorry, boy. Nu-uh. But, nobody else was around and he did need help. So, after a moment of hesistation, I help him get up. After that, I was like oh my hand. I think it's the first time since puberty I volunteerly gave a hand to someone I was suppose not to. Lepas tu, mmg Istigfar byk2. But I did managed to cover my palm with my shirt, so at least the effort counts. But, still people there look up to me and Ks as practicing muslims. Hope I did was right.

Then, we played another game. Nt's game of animal. A Russian game? So he basically give us animals. When the names are called, we have the quickly sit down, while the others try to not let us. And that's the end of the game session. After that, they played some other games like volley (which I'm so not good at playing). I didn't play but I went to the ocean to dip my feet for the last time.

And then that's it. We were on our way to homestay. Stop by a restaurant to have noodle soup, where the people stare at P and Nk. They really are a tourist attraction here. We had rice like continously for many days. So it's a good change. :)

Bye Bye Beach,
The Girl in A Hood

Day 05 : Playing with clay.

So waking up today, the first time we went on UMY mini van. It fits us all, and there 5 rows. The first row for the driver, and other two seats taken by Nt & some other guy (I guess). Second row with Nk, P & another committee. Third row, M & Kh. Ks & I took the forth row. And fifth row for V, Wi & another committee. My memory is quite vague here.

Yes, playing with clay. This day we are making pots and statue from clay. Everyone was excited (except me, cause I knowingly know I have no talent in it). It started off by a demonstration with Fi being the translator, cause God knows only the Malaysian & Indonesian understand what the instructor said. We were already seated in our place, me, Ks, M & Kh got the container shape thingy to like put the clay. And Nt, Nk, P & V was the other side getting the spinning stuff.

It was quite easy. Boy, I was wrong. The container thing needs a lot of technique which I didn't realise during the demonstration. The amount of clay, the thickness put in the container, the strength to mold it evenly, to like punch the two piece o container together. So what I got was mostly disoriented statue of a Hindu warrior (which who gave me this in the first place? It's not like nice looking to give to someone, and not that allowed either to put in my house.), something difficult (which I crushed it down, my second try), a house & and vase. I manage to make our (if you count the crush down one), while waiting for V to finish. I think  I kinda get a hang of it in the end... Or nah... At least I think I got more talent than Ks for this.

But, for the spinning top. Nu-uh. Zero talent. The aunt basically help me for (actually do it for me) from the start to the finish. Haha. At least I did the decoration. I remembered P decoration was nice & V's one is humongous with an unsymmetrical handle. And also the trio all did the big Buddha statue. Haha. Except Nt only did the head. Also, so jealous of him cause he basically got talent in making the clay pots or vase. I bet he did around 5 or 6, while the others did 1 or 2. Haha.

So then we went back to homestay. Changed our clothes to the pink one. It's a surprise they gave us long sleeve shirt when we were expecting short sleeve, still it's still kinda short in length to my liking. Lucky, I choose the size L. While, Ks is taller than me, her shirt barely cover her bum, so I gave her my miniskirt to her instead. For the presentation, I barely managed to make it the very morning. As the internet the night before was frustrating. So it's literally a last-30-minutes-slide-preparation-for-me. Haha.

We went to an all girls school for our presentation. I think I did terrible cause the kids I got are just like one in form 1 and another in form 5, so I couldn't get a bottomline in explaining. The 'form 5 students' are excited. While the 'form 1 students' are just bored. Sorry kids. Well, the other did well. It has its own perk to have a foreigner face there. Then, we had a quiz session and photo session. The kids were flocking over Nt (I practically laugh), cause he's the only guy he had to bare with the photographs & autographs. Well, I got one fan too in the end (yeap, she did take my signature as well. #blewnails)

On the way to the van, V & M try on the colourful trishaw. Nk & P bought & ate some mangos (with the skin). I was sitting with May this time, we didn't talk much. Huhu. But I remember she said it was like changing partners (aka lovers) as I said I wanna take turn sitting with others too instead of with Ks only.

That night we went to visit Jogja. Yeah! Another motorbike trip. This time with Wil as my supir. Hehe. We went to a phone repair shop, which on the bottom floor is a gift shop. Me & Ks bought cards (I bought along some cute pegs) for the participants as farewell gifts. It's about RM 1 per card. Standard price in Malaysia too. Still, it was worth it.

We then go to visit Tugu Jogja which is a must to take photo as people said if you come to Jogja and never taken photos with Tugu Jogja it's like you never been to Jogja. It's nice. Plus, there's some maskots wearing soldier clothes & ghosts. Haha.

Then, we went to the station to take a picture, and had nasi kucing. Which is it called because the fish (the side dish), is much more than the rice. I bought it with some siput satay (which I haven't eat since I was 7, literally. snails). The food was nice. And the snails tasted like shellfish to me. Had some Jawa tea to go with it (which tasted like tea at the homestay). I tasted the kopi arang, which is black coffee with burning charcoal in it. Tasted like normal coffee all the same. While, we were eating there were a lot of begger and street singers. Wil gave money for most of it. Not to forget in Indonesia, the parking fee is 2000 rp/park.

Thanks, Zo, Wil, Ar & another one I don't remember the name for hanging out with us!

Going back to homestay it was 10 p.m, and I was literally full for a diner. We met P there, Ks ask for advice from her about study. She gave good advice & she's talkative in a good way, where I love to talk to her. :)

Cat rice or cat food?

Day 04 : Assessment Day!

Assessment Day. Huhu.

For this day we had MCQ's of 15 questions for our quiz. I though I got half of it wrong (which was right). Well, I didn't finish reading the notes.

But, I finished last. Which was embarassing. Hehe. P got out first and Ks was before me. Nevertheless, all got out before the 20 minute mark.

And then, we went to the library to start with our presentation preparation for our Pharmacy Social activity the next day. Me and Ks already requested for laptops as we didn't bought our laptop for the trip. Mine was pretty simple with lots of pictures while Ks has lots of information. Our normal style, as I used to have presentation with her. We didn't get to finish, but we on to the ext activity.

So after that we went back to our homestay, getting ready to go to Cendani. A place where they make cosmetic stuffs from herbs. The owner is basically who gives the lectures  & the instructor fro the experiment the day before.

The place is basically a village, got a gazebo (I don't know what is called), a small hut on a pond, people cutting Pandan leaves, a place where it sells the products, and some place to sit down. Haha.

The owner has a cute daughter, whom I forget her name. When they gave us food the food catering was basically her name. Her company her dad said. But I couldn't forget that she cried everytime V hold her. Haha. She's interested with Nk & V, but maybe to scared to be hold. Well... It was to an extent that she cried while Nk hold her. Maybe looks unfamiliar? But, she's cool with us. Maybe because we wear hijabs. Haha.

So for the night, as we didn't have anything. So the committees all planned out having ice cream with us. And by motorbikes! Ohh. How I love riding the bike. I went with Nay. We were the second to go, but the last to arrive. Haha. The ice cream was good, it was an ice cream parlor with different flavours. A little expensive but good. We went on a little stroll on the street, which was nice. There were restaurants (serving vegan but alcohol and stuff), some hotels, spas & an antique museum. The museum was creppy though. And was very expensive, for useful stuff which I would never use. I was with Nay & Zo most of the time, as my liaison officer is busy with Nt (yeah, we share the same liaison officer). Well, Nil is actually his permanent LO and not mine. Jeez, how I would like if Ca (my actual LO) been with me since the first day. He got surgery, so it's not his fault either. Then, Zo invite me to walk back, if not we are never gonna go back. Haha. Someone has to start the trip.

Then, we got back. Which is way pass bedtime for Nk (she used to sleep at 7, the day before). So she looked sleepy, and so quiet. Which was cute. Hehe. So we went to bed thanking the bit of self-reward we got for studying.

Day 03 : Study time again!

So we basically had the same routine as yesterday, except we only had one lecture for the day. The lectures was about tradisional herbal cosmetics. Nta got a little hyped and answer most of the question like what does the shortform means in the slide. Well, I got one too. So kuddos for me. We got some free herbal products as gifts, Ks got ratus which is for female hygiene which we got a good laugh about it. Nt got strawberry stuff for whitening and I got something from the family or garlic & cumen (I forgot the name), I gave mine to Nt since he didn't want his actually (he basically offering it out to the committees) & he seems more interested in mine. Well, he didn't gave away his to me. Haha.

After the lecture we had some free time, so they took us to the a room near our IPE discussion room. Had our lunch there, while the girls were on the desktop putting songs to jam. V ask us what the meaning of Bismillah (which was wriiten on the board in Arabic). So me was like it means in the name of the God. Even before, May ask was is Assalamualaikum, so I teach her the meaning.

We were excused to have our prayer at the mosque, after we come back. Nk & P were at the desktop searching for the IPE stuffs. Me & Ks had already discussed and did a little research the night before. The discussion went well, we said roughly the same amount, So I guess it's okay. Although, I kinda regret saying cucumber as a soothing agent. Everyone else laugh. TT.TT Well, at least it's not as bad as Ks saying paracetamol can cause drowsiness.

But still I had to embarrass myself more. During the practicals. We made scrubs. And my pot was not heating up. So I told the committee. But then the instructor (which is the same as the one giving the morning lectures) was behind at pull out the plug which I didn't plug it. Haha. At least everyone had a good laugh because of me. But the were two reasons or my action (still embarrass now), first my socket was used for the instructor pot's plug (but stupid me didn't checked), second it is written there ROSAK there, so obiously I had to ask? Well, let's just say. I'm plain idiot. Haha.

Haha. So for night, I was busy with my embarassment.

Quizes again. Huhu.

Day 02 : Studying again!

We woke up as usual on 4:45 a.m, since that's their fajr time. And went breakast on 7, finding someone who is already there. We both come to the table, kindly decline to shake hands with him & exchange names. Which I found Nt is kinda sounds like a girl name. He didn't smile a lot, and look pretty sore. Which then we both knew that Russian don't usually smile. He obiously finished breakfast first, and went back to his room. We met the others while finishing our breakfast.

We got our ride to the university first, where they put us in a really nice Auditorium kinda like the Dentist's Audi. We sat our usual position. Then, the others came. Nt didn't know where to sit so the committee gestured for him to sit besides us. I kinda expect it as it was just us sitting by the right side of the Audi. We had a small talk with him. And well, you can guess when people who are not really good in english trying to make up conversation. It is kinda funny to be honest. And Nt kinda quiet? I presume. Not like the other participants who can converse quite a lot with us. He didn't ask us any question to be frank. Which made me wonder is it his usual personality like this? Or he seems to learn a different kind of Islamic culture. Still in Russia I later learn the second major religion is Islam, although not practicing.

Our lectures began, and Nt likes to put both of his arms on like the chair arm thingy where I in my habit I like to put my right arm there, which doesn't really work. Plus, to be honest I was not really comfortable sitting beside him as we might accidentally bump each other. Where it did happen. Several times. Still, study was like normal. I like the lectures honestly. Studying again for awhile gives me the hype. So I was really into the lectures. Really.

We had our 10 minutes break in between the lectures so we all went on a walk to the cafeteria. The cafetaria was most likely close excepts a few stalls, as it was holiday season. There, we all bought some kind of ice blended, at first I wanted apple then I changed to guava. Ks took mango, if I'm not mistaken. Mines were nicer than hers. It taste like when you have guava with asam. Yeah that taste. But hers were nice but kinda watery. We went back to the lecture hall, for our second lecture.

We had lunch at the park near the mosque, where I sat with the Cambodians. I was kinda jealous that Ks was kinda close with them. So here's my chance. Had a good chance talking to them, mostly with M about our language and stuff. It was a lunch box which I kinda like, except it seems like too much food for me. Later, we prayed at the mosque which was nice. It's an open air concept & it has many levels (I guess?), but one level for the girls. The ablution space where kinda different. And they have different doors to go in & out from the like water part.

We had our IPE discussion the afternoon, where they had like actors playing doctors, nurses, and patients with dementia. Honestly, I was kinda afraid. Also, does Ks. As we are both first year students. Of course, our knowledge is lacking. And to our despair we got separate groups. I got paired up with Nt, Nk & Kh. I was at least relived as Kh is there with me. Nk dominates the Q & A, which I relieves me more as I won't be talking much.

We later had our lab activity, which I'm afraid the most. I kinda want them to do it all. As of course they would be looking at my hand, which is awkward. We made herbal scrub for the first session & then muscle pain reliever for the second. The committees mistakenly give us all includes the hijabees with mask that you git to put on your ear. So I had to ask if they another type, which they have, took a while though, and my group was already finishing. They had a scrub session after that while waiting the other group, I didn't wanna join as I would probably ask to expose my arm like them. So I didn't. During the second experiment, it's obviously Kh's & my turn which was awkward. My left hand has been on slight contraction since the first day maybe because of nerves, so I wouldn't really want to use my left hand. Which Nk pointed out during the experiment, so I awkwardly replied I'm okay. We got the female scent for our muscle pain reliever which Nt was obviously isn't liking much, while the other group got the male scent although they have all female. Haha.

So that ends our second day. :)

10 more days to blog TT.TT

Day 01 : The journey begins!

Sorry for the cliche title. I couldn't think of something else.

The summer school started late for the first day. We got our morning off so we both stayed in our room. I was busy with my business matter, ironing the clothes for the week & had a short nap. Ks was pretty much on her phone the whole time. She was so excited! And I'm practically the chill me. Meh.

For breakfast, we had nasi goreng & some kind of Jawa tea (I couldn't remember the name). Still, basically exchanging our names which I still couldn't remember. (It was only a few days after I could remember their names, that's when I spot the spelling. Huhu.) I remember P & Nk still flashing their perfect english to us. Haha. And the Cambodians talking in Khmer & us talking in Malay.

We got to Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta for the first after lunch which was only 10 minutes away from our homestay. Had a short briefing, and introduction of ourselves, which was supposed to be 3 minutes long per person. We had like this kind of game like passing the pen & who gets it is one who had to introduce themselves. The others did great, except me of course. I'm so used to only introducing my name & course instead of a whole introduction.

I didn't know my hobby is. So I simply blurt out I like cooking & reading (which was partly true, although I don't do that often now. #lazypeopleproblems) And also said I usually watch kdramas & kpop in my free time. Busted, when they ask my faourite group. Which I didn't have. And also, as korean is a South East Asia thing, the UKs was practically disinterest. Haha. Poor them. And me.

We made a round around the faculty. Which attracts me the most is their ancient weighing balance & fake clinic. Which is cool. They also have their own library for their own faculty.

Then we got back to homestay to get ready for our welcoming ceremony which to my surprise is at the first sultan's palace where the mother & younger sister of the sultan currently lives. While, we were waiting me & Ks got a separated table from the rest. They chatted a lot between themselves and took pictures. I was quite worried if we didn't get along well (but nah.. That's not the problem.)  At first I was so busy with my phone trying to settle a business problem, which was bothering me. Plus, I didn't like watching people dancing even in traditional dance due to their tight clothes. The dance was practically so slow, very slow at first. And normal speed then. Overall, it looks like a women trying to prepare herself to go out. Like a 'dandan' kinda thing (sorry, don't know the word in english.) And I didn't pay attention to the Princess speech. Sorry your Highness. It was only then, when they invited to the house (Mi nudged me to go in). I stop looking at my phone.

The house is a living museum for a fact. They still kept the ancient things keeping it safe & sound. And also the Queen loves Malaysia. As a fact our country is one of the one who visits them & bring souvenirs. Got a picture with the royal Highness which I think their are so humble. The food was great, it was the Sultan's favourite food for his birthday. So it was a honour eating it. The rice.

We got back, pretty tired. So I went to bed early, When I heard P & Nk talking to whom we assume the 'Russian' guy. So he arrived safely, I thought. While we hear from our room (you could literally hear everything from outside in our room), Ks said his english seems like ours. Haha.

Sorry, Nt.

Pre Day 01 : Arriving Yogyakarta.

I'm so lazy right now, but knowing I'm gonna be mad for not posting these memories...

Still, Happy Independence Day Indonesia!

So arriving there, at Yogyakarta Airport.

Well, before that. The whole journey been a view to be awe.

The ocean, the land, and one of the mountain looks like a zit from earth passing through the clouds.
How I wish I can see that forever.

So we arrived.

Even, before the seatbelts signs were off. People were already up and bustle around.

I didn't quite like it, still I waited for a moment.

When my friend got a little impatient. That's when I thought we had to hurry up as we don't know where to go! Haha.

So we got off the plane to this airplane field and followed everyone to the airplane station.

It's kinda like a simple bus station at a glance. But what to expect? This is not Jakarta. Still, I like it as we don't need to move much. Haha. Unlike KLIA which is so enourmous is like a workout just walking.

We queued to get our passport cop, waited for our luggage (which is like a while), gave our like declaration something that was given for us to sign at the plane, scanning process and off we go. Along the process we still talk to Yana, she's really nice & gave us a lot of tips. An Indonesian but live in Malaysia. A soon to be doctor too. I wish her the best!

Outside, we met the commitees that pick us up with a banner and all, which really warm my heart.

We exchange greetings and names. Waited for the car. Off to homestay which is about 40 minutes away.

The car ride was kinda awkward cause we still barely knew each other. Zo helped a lot by breaking the silence, and me kinda lot of answering & questioned back. While, Ks was enjoying the view. Ni & Ir was in the front seat by the way.

During the car ride, they said we have to share rooms with all the other girls. I didn't care much except we need our private space to pray. But Ks cared as she hold on to the opinion which our aurah to non-muslim is the same as with the boys.

Upon arriving the room which is like a small house/apartment. We meet a sleepping P on bed fully covered. So we try to match the praying mat anywhere clean, which ended up on the extra mattress.

As soon as we finished our Maghrib prayer, we prayed our Isya' prayer as the azan just arrived. The committee invited us to dining place (which as it the day before the programme we had to pay for ourselves). I choose rice with Pece Lele + plain water. Ks chose friend rice (which was our breakfast menu the next morning. Haha) + orange juice.

Finishing diner, which was yummy. The committee said we are going to get separate rooms. They've been asking us that since we arrived, and they seem to decide it's the best we got our own rooms. Me and Ks had this small talk before, and agreed to not bother the commitee to change rooms, cause both way got it's pros and cons. So we accepted both ways. The rooms where arranged 2-2-3. Where the 2 from Northern Island got one room, us got one room, and the Cambodians got one room.

We went back to the room to get our luggage, and still met with a sleeping P. The commitees woke her up (if I'm not mistaken) as I was not mistaken. I'n my mind I thought she's seriously jet lag or is a deep sleeper, as even before we made some noise, she didn't even budge. We still exchange names where I introduced my as *oppsie* you guys shouldn't know. Haha.  Still, I introduced the both Malay & Englidh pronouncuation of my name. She caught the English one, while I still didn't get hers. Haha. Sorry, P.

We met the Cambodians on our to our rooms, where V approach us and introduced others (still, I remember M & Kh's names first as I couldn't quite grab the name). They seem to be coming back from dinner outside. And one thing, they're english was purrrfect unlike us, so I was quite startled. So as Ks as she told me she's the type to need to to construct the sentence before talking. Well, our English got better then (I even still have this American-British accent so Yippee!!).

So we got our room, room 409 at De Gadri's Mansion (the name of our homestay). I unpacked my clothes, Ks was on her phone and babble about how excited she is. <3 Had a small chat on what are their names and our sad English proficiency story (well, I was quite confident).

I took a bath and went to sleep with a dream of tomorrow wonders. :)

Pre-Day 01 : Flying gives me shivers.

Hi. It's me. And I'm back from my trip.

In this post I wanna talk about my flying experience.

In general, the trip was awesome & an unforgettable memory. It still lingers around me, even it's the third day I'm home.

Just so you know, it's been around 14 years since my last flight. So I can't really give a good comparison review or so on. And this is a definite not a sponsored review.

My trip was to Jogjajakarta, and obviously I took AirAsia as it's the cheapest.

How to check the most reasonable flights? I used www.traveloka.com. I think it's a sister brand of Trivago. Nevertheless, it's easy to use & all the prices are truly as stated (except luggage fares, you need to search about that). For the cheapest flight you need to wait a little longer or it to appear. It also has a transit or direct option.

From their, I'd bought ticket (practically my friend was the one who bought it). We bought the tickets onlines, through www.airasia.com. It's basically simple, after you order the tickets. Print (you only need one copy for one order, example with me & my friends we only need one instead of two. But make sure you stick with your friend when taking the boarding pass. After that, it's fine.).

In KLIA2, we were practically a bit late, so we went straight to the "Kaunter Pertanyaan" which aid to self-check in the electronic thingy, which practically didn't help. So we went to AirAsia check in platform and ask them. Then, simply got our luggage check in & our boarding pass. Waved our goodbyes to my mom & brother who help send us off the airport.

And off we go. After the castam check, we saw this long line of foreigners lined to get their stamped (I thinked?). But, lucky for Malaysians we got this electronic one, if you'e got the new passport it comes with an e-passport (the hard card part) with it. So all you need to do is self-scan (you know when you got to the place) your passport & fingerprint. And that's all.

Had about a hour and half since we got there. There inside you see to shops, and all. KLIA got two parts of shopping one which is outside the castam & one is before you got on the plane.

And one thing for sure, just be sure to arrived at least 2 hours early before your flight. And safe, 3 hours if you are the first timers like us.

We prayed first when we got there, and practically got to the waiting area after. Met with Yana, a new friend and an uncle there. Had a good chat.

Then, they called for which seats, got up & qeued.

Went up the plane.

So in AirAsia, their seats consists of hot seat (much more area for legs). And it's a three-three seated (you know when you book the tickets online).

It is comfortable. Not the one you expect the sofa type luxury. But it was the economy class type. If you are normal-sized, not more than 165 cm tall, the seats will be more than enough. Taller than that, your legs might have a little squeeze.

I got no headaches or all, but I was not comorable enough (but I did sleep on the flight back).

To be continued...

I got loads more to blog, Huwaa.
