Day 05 : Playing with clay.

So waking up today, the first time we went on UMY mini van. It fits us all, and there 5 rows. The first row for the driver, and other two seats taken by Nt & some other guy (I guess). Second row with Nk, P & another committee. Third row, M & Kh. Ks & I took the forth row. And fifth row for V, Wi & another committee. My memory is quite vague here.

Yes, playing with clay. This day we are making pots and statue from clay. Everyone was excited (except me, cause I knowingly know I have no talent in it). It started off by a demonstration with Fi being the translator, cause God knows only the Malaysian & Indonesian understand what the instructor said. We were already seated in our place, me, Ks, M & Kh got the container shape thingy to like put the clay. And Nt, Nk, P & V was the other side getting the spinning stuff.

It was quite easy. Boy, I was wrong. The container thing needs a lot of technique which I didn't realise during the demonstration. The amount of clay, the thickness put in the container, the strength to mold it evenly, to like punch the two piece o container together. So what I got was mostly disoriented statue of a Hindu warrior (which who gave me this in the first place? It's not like nice looking to give to someone, and not that allowed either to put in my house.), something difficult (which I crushed it down, my second try), a house & and vase. I manage to make our (if you count the crush down one), while waiting for V to finish. I think  I kinda get a hang of it in the end... Or nah... At least I think I got more talent than Ks for this.

But, for the spinning top. Nu-uh. Zero talent. The aunt basically help me for (actually do it for me) from the start to the finish. Haha. At least I did the decoration. I remembered P decoration was nice & V's one is humongous with an unsymmetrical handle. And also the trio all did the big Buddha statue. Haha. Except Nt only did the head. Also, so jealous of him cause he basically got talent in making the clay pots or vase. I bet he did around 5 or 6, while the others did 1 or 2. Haha.

So then we went back to homestay. Changed our clothes to the pink one. It's a surprise they gave us long sleeve shirt when we were expecting short sleeve, still it's still kinda short in length to my liking. Lucky, I choose the size L. While, Ks is taller than me, her shirt barely cover her bum, so I gave her my miniskirt to her instead. For the presentation, I barely managed to make it the very morning. As the internet the night before was frustrating. So it's literally a last-30-minutes-slide-preparation-for-me. Haha.

We went to an all girls school for our presentation. I think I did terrible cause the kids I got are just like one in form 1 and another in form 5, so I couldn't get a bottomline in explaining. The 'form 5 students' are excited. While the 'form 1 students' are just bored. Sorry kids. Well, the other did well. It has its own perk to have a foreigner face there. Then, we had a quiz session and photo session. The kids were flocking over Nt (I practically laugh), cause he's the only guy he had to bare with the photographs & autographs. Well, I got one fan too in the end (yeap, she did take my signature as well. #blewnails)

On the way to the van, V & M try on the colourful trishaw. Nk & P bought & ate some mangos (with the skin). I was sitting with May this time, we didn't talk much. Huhu. But I remember she said it was like changing partners (aka lovers) as I said I wanna take turn sitting with others too instead of with Ks only.

That night we went to visit Jogja. Yeah! Another motorbike trip. This time with Wil as my supir. Hehe. We went to a phone repair shop, which on the bottom floor is a gift shop. Me & Ks bought cards (I bought along some cute pegs) for the participants as farewell gifts. It's about RM 1 per card. Standard price in Malaysia too. Still, it was worth it.

We then go to visit Tugu Jogja which is a must to take photo as people said if you come to Jogja and never taken photos with Tugu Jogja it's like you never been to Jogja. It's nice. Plus, there's some maskots wearing soldier clothes & ghosts. Haha.

Then, we went to the station to take a picture, and had nasi kucing. Which is it called because the fish (the side dish), is much more than the rice. I bought it with some siput satay (which I haven't eat since I was 7, literally. snails). The food was nice. And the snails tasted like shellfish to me. Had some Jawa tea to go with it (which tasted like tea at the homestay). I tasted the kopi arang, which is black coffee with burning charcoal in it. Tasted like normal coffee all the same. While, we were eating there were a lot of begger and street singers. Wil gave money for most of it. Not to forget in Indonesia, the parking fee is 2000 rp/park.

Thanks, Zo, Wil, Ar & another one I don't remember the name for hanging out with us!

Going back to homestay it was 10 p.m, and I was literally full for a diner. We met P there, Ks ask for advice from her about study. She gave good advice & she's talkative in a good way, where I love to talk to her. :)

Cat rice or cat food?
